Jenis Dan Kelimpahan Perifiton Pada Substrat Keramik Di Sungai Mandau Kecamatan Sungai Mandau Kabupaten Siak
ABSTRACT
Periphyton is sessile microscopic organisms that attach on certain substrates. The aim of the study was to determine the types and abundance of periphyton on ceramic substrates in July-August 2022 on the Mandau River. The research method used is survey method. Sampling was carried out 3 times for 10 days. The substrate used is a ceramic substrate with a size (8x3) cm2. The number of ceramic substrates at each station was 40, 30 and 20 pieces respectively at station 1, station 2 and station 3. As a result, there were 25 types of periphyton belonging to 4 classes, namely Bacillariophyceae (14 species), Chlorophyceae (7 species), Cyanophyceae (3 species), and Dinophyceae (1 species). The average abundance of periphyton ranges from 19.754 – 40.574 cells/cm2. The results of water quality measurements showed that: brightness (28-35 cm), temperature (29-30ºC), current velocity (0,21-0,24 m/s), pH (4-5), dissolved oxygen (2,5- 3,1 mg/L), free carbon dioxide (18,81-20,17 mg/L), nitrate (0,0160-0,0260 mg/L) and phosphate (0,0467-0,0668 mg/L). Based on the concentration of nitrate, it is classified as oligotrophic, while based on the concentration of phosphate, it is classified as oligotrophic.
