The background of this study , as in SDN 014 Trunk Gansal Balam Jaya District , the fifth grade students during the learning outcomes is low . This is caused limited time , means learning environment and students are less motivated to learn IPS . To overcome the problem , the authors try to do research using cooperative learning approach through PAIKEM strategy .
This study aims to determine the improvement of student learning outcomes . This research was carried on in two cycles with four times the meeting held on 09 April to 2 May 2013 . As for the subjects in this study were 014 fifth grade students of SDN Balam Jaya the 36 people ( 20 men and 16 women ) . The parameters measured in this study that teacher activity , student activity and learning outcomes ( the absorption of students , mastery learning ) in learning social studies .
The steps in the implementation of cooperative learning strategy through PAIKEM ie , preparation / planning , action, observation and reflection .
The results showed that the average number of teachers in the first cycle activity is 28 to either category . In the second cycle increased to 43.50 with very good category . The average amount of student activity throughout the entire activity in the first cycle is 25.64 with enough categories . In the second cycle increased to 35.03 in both categories . Absorption results in the form of student learning and mastery learning students, in the first cycle , the first post-test 67.36 % ( approximately ) in the post test II increased to 70.56 % ( enough ) with daily tests I 73.78 % ( enough ) . While in the second cycle I post test 79.72 % ( enough ) , the post test II increased to 82.72 % ( excellent ) with daily test II 84.42 % ( excellent ) . Mastery learning students in the first cycle and second cycle 66.67 % 94.44 % thoroughness . From the results of this study concluded that the use of cooperative learning approach through PAIKEM Strategies to improve learning outcomes in class IPS SDN Balam Jaya District 014 Trunk Gansal Indragiri Hulu
