Pengaruh Komposisi Bahan Baku (Sekam Padi Dan Jerami Padi) Dan Waktu Pemasakan Terhadap Karakteristik Kertas Yang Dihasilkan
Research making and characterization of paper was made by the utilization of straw and husk rice mixture fiber has been done. This research was conducted by using semi-chemical soda process. It aimed to subsitute the paper raw material with some variation composition raw material and optimum cooking time. Ratio of raw material from the mixture that is 1:1, 1:2 and 1:3. Variations of cooking times were 120 minutes and 150 minutes. Straw and husk rice cooked by using 2% NaOH at 100ºC. Then washed after the pulp was mixed according to the ratio that has been made. The best composition from straw and husk rice mixture was the composition 1:2 for 150 minutes where the characteristic of it described in 8.59 gr/m2 for gramatur (SNI 14-6519-2001), 65.7 nM/g for tensile stregth (SNI 14-4737-1998) and 3.9 mN.m2/g for tear stregth (SNI 14-0436-1989). Based on the parameter test it was proven as paper for food packaging.
