This research is motivated by the fact that the population growth rate is
due to the fairly high fertility rate in Pekanbaru City. In order to reduce the birth
rate, the family planning program is directed to the use of contraceptive methods
that are effective in their use period, namely the Long Term Contraceptive Method.
Where the communication, information and education policy on family planning to
the community is the main strategy in increasing the participation of long-term
contraceptive method couples.
The research purpose was to determine the effect of communication,
resources, disposition and bureaucratic structure in the implementation of
communication, information and education on family planning on the participation
of fertile-aged couples in the long-term contraceptive method. This study uses a
quantitative descriptive research method approach. Primary data were obtained
directly through questionnaires from respondents, namely City Family Planning
Extension Officers. Pekanbaru
The results of this research indicate that Communication, Resources,
Disposition and Bureaucratic Structure in the implementation of communication,
information and education on family planning have an influence on the
participation of fertile-aged couples directly or indirectly in the long-term
contraceptive method. Indirect participation is assessed from the level of
attendance and activity in family planning communication, information and
education activities. Meanwhile, direct participation is seen from the participation
of couples of childbearing age using long-term contraceptive methods (intrauterine
device, implant, tubectomy and vasectomy), both seen as new family planning
participants, changing methods and tests, especially from couples of childbearing
age who have 2 or more children and women. Fertile age who is aged 35 years and
over.
