Status Resistensi Aedes Aegypti Terhadap Malathion 5% Di Kelurahan Tangkerang Timur Kecamatan Tenayan Raya Kota Pekanbaru
Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) is the most impactful mosquito borne disease
in the world. Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever is transmitted by Aedes aegypti
mosquitoes which contains dengue virus. Vector control have been done by the
government to eradicate Aedes aegypti mosquitoes, one of the method that have
been used is checmical method using insecticide. Insecticide misuse can cause
resistance to mosquitoes. The purpose of this study was to determine the resistance
status of Aedes aegypti mosquitoes to 5% malathion in Tangkerang Timur Urban
Village Tenayan Raya Sub-District Pekanbaru City. This study used a
observational laboratory method with cross sectional design. It was conducted in
July 2021 to December 2021. Samples was using adult Aedes aegypti mosquitoes
aged 3-5 days with a total of 120 samples. The resistance test was carried out using
World Health Organization (WHO) method using impregnated paper 5%
malathion . The result of this study showed that the mortality of Aedes aegypti
mosquitoes after 24 hour exposure to 5% malathion was 100%. This study showed
that Aedes aegypti mosquitoes from Tangkerang Timur Urban Village Tenayan
Raya Sub-District Pekanbary city still vulnerable to 5% malathion .
