Analisis Kerusakan Mesin Ripple Mill Menggunakan Metode Fault Tree Analysis (Fta) Dan Failure Mode And Effect Analysis (Fmea) (Studi Kasus Ptpn V Sei. Tapung)
ABSTRACT
The ripple mill mechine is a tool for breaking and separating palm kernels from their shells, in this mechine there is a rotor part that rotates on the ripple plate, the stationary part, the seeds enter between the rotor and the ripple plate so that they collide and break the shell from the core. The risk that is often experienced by the ripple mill machine is the occurrence of falling down object, both iron and equipment. This cause the ripple mill machine to not function effectively and efficiently. The purpose of this study is to identify the risks that occur in the ripple mill machine. The methode used in this study is the fault tree analysis (FTA) method which is used to find the cause of damage to the basic event and failure mode and effect analysis (FMEA) which is used to find problem priorities through the risk priorty number (RPN). Damage to the bearing is caused by foreign particles that accumulate and lack of mechanical knowledge when making repairs with an RPN value of 224. Damage that causes the rotor bar to break and bend is caused by raw materials mixed with foreign particles with an RPN value of 448. Meanwhile, damage that causes the V-Belt to break is caused by acceleration or excessive workload on the v-belt and loading that changes direction and magnitude with an RPN value of 392.
