Jaringan Sosial Masyarakat Peduli Bencana (Mpb) Dalammitigasi Bencana Kebakaran Lahan Gambut Di Desa Tanjung Belit Kecamatan Siak Kecil Kabupaten Bengkalis
This study aims to identify and analyze the activities, challenges, and strong and weak ties within the social network of the Disaster Care Community (MPB) in Tanjung Belit Village, Bengkalis Regency, in their efforts to mitigate peatland fire disasters. A qualitative approach was used to describe the internal and external social network dynamics of MPB, including its roles and functions in disaster prevention. The research subjects included MPB members, local communities, and external partners such as the Village Government, PT.SPM, and related institutions, selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected through field observations, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The results show that strong ties within the MPB's social network are reflected in a sense of kinship, trust, transparency, and collective motivation, indicating emotional connections alongside formal relationships. Meanwhile, weak ties are evident in MPB’s collaboration with external parties, such as the Village Government and related institutions. Although strong ties serve as bridges for accessing information, new ideas, and additional resources, collaboration with external parties tends to be inconsistent, affecting the effectiveness of MPB in disaster mitigation. This study highlights that the combination of strong and weak ties within a social network plays a strategic role in enhancing MPB’s capacity to mitigate peatland fire disasters.
