Isolasi Dan Uji Toksisitas Metabolit Sekunder Ekstrak N-Heksana Daun Ekor Naga (Epipremnum Pinnatum (L.) Engl)
Epipremnum pinnatum (L.) Engl is a herbal plant that is very popular in China as an anticancer remedy and acts to increase the bodys immunity in preventing frightening diseases and can also be used to treat diabetes sufferers. The research aims to isolate and carry out toxicity test for secondary metabolite compounds from n-hexane extract of E. pinnatum (L) Engl. Isolation of secondary metabolite coumpounds was carried out using gravity column chromatography to obtain 7 fraction. Fraction 4 (F4) was recrystallized and 26.5 mg white needle shaped crystals were obtained and coded EP-H-F4 with a melting point of 123oC-125oC. Characterization using FTIR spectroscopy of the EP-H-F4 shows that there are wave numbers at absorption of 3268 cm-1 (O-H), 2959-2869 cm-1 (aliphatic C-H), 1465 cm-1 (CH2), 1377 cm-1 (CH3), 1059 cm-1 (C-O) dan 969 cm-1 (=CH alkene).
Based on the characterization and TLC results of the EP-H-F4 compound with the standard compound β-Sitosterol, it is suspected that the EP-H-F4 compound is a β-Sitosterol compound. The results of the toxicity test carried out on the n-hexane extract showed that the EP-H-F4 compound was nontoxic with an LC50 value of 1623 ppm.
