ABSTRACT
This study aims to describe the character values contained in the Riau Malay Culture Book for grade IV. Character values are attitudes and behaviors that are based on norms and values that apply in society, which include spiritual aspects, personal/personality aspects, social aspects, and environmental aspects. This study is a type of qualitative descriptive research, This study is to investigate or find and find character values contained in the Riau Malay book and describe and illustrate. The method used in this study is described in steps according to the stages of its implementation, namely 1) description stage 2). Classification stage, 3). Analysis stage, 4) interpretation stage. The results of the study show: The character values contained in the Riau Malay Culture Book for grade IV Elementary School character values are Religious values, Honest values, Tolerance values, Creative values, Love of Country character values, Communicative/Friendly values, Love of Reading character values, Care for the Environment character values, and Care for Social
