Abstract
Literary works are artistic creations that convey the essence of humanity through creativity and Imaginatively use of language. As a communication instrument, language has a vital value in transmitting aims and objectives and even messages. Various types of communication can be performed with time limitations in delivering messages from news, novels, and films Convenience through mass media has positive implications for language users. This type of qualitative research applied descriptive analysis methods. The data described were discovered through reading techniques and collected by employing word techniques. The data collection centered on Roland Barthers' semiotics by identifying markers and signs in each data set. The data obtained were subsequently identified according to denotation meaning, connotation meaning, and mythical meaning. According to data analysis result which were done through semiotics, it can be concluded that the motivational messages involved in the novel Negeri 5 Menara were easier to understand due to its use of metaphors The motivation identified primanly emphasizes the necessity of studying religion in the educational process, honesty in all desires, belief in oneself and pursue their dreams, looking at the future with astronomical expectations, and igniting passion to reach self-esteem and accomplishment.
