SUMMARY
RATI JUSLIYANTI, NIM. 2110246879, Strategy for Fulfilling Green Open Space in Urban Areas of Bantan District, Bengkalis Regency, supervised by Yusni Ikhwan Siregar and Defri Yoza.
Urban Areas of Bantan District are included in the border areas with population growth that continues to increase every year. In fulfilling green open space in urban areas, it is often hampered because the increase in population growth is not accompanied by the provision of adequate green open space.
This study was conducted to determine the area and distribution of green open space, the factors that influence it and formulate a strategy for fulfilling green open space through SWOT analysis.
The research results show that (1) the existing public green open space covers an area of ± 277,402.6 m2, (2) the projected need for green open space based on the population up to 2042 covers an area of ± 63,072.0 m2 consisting of sub-district parks covering an area of ± 12,614.4 m2 and cemeteries covering an area of ± 50,457.6 m2, and (3) the provision of green open space based on the Indonesian Green Blue Index (IHBI) method is obtained as 11.27% of the urban area. The strategy for fulfilling green open space emerged S-O, including (1) Developing green open space to expand the coverage/density of vegetation cover, accessibility, and supporting facilities through cooperation with related parties, (2) Controlling the use of space regarding the conversion of green open space land as an effort to realize orderly spatial planning, (3) Increasing public awareness through socialization of the importance of the existence of green open space in efforts to realize clean and well-maintained green open space, and (4) Managing ecotourism by involving the community through empowerment as an effort to improve the local economy and increase Village Original Income.
The fulfillment of green open space in Bantan District Urban cannot only involve the Bengkalis Regency Government, but also requires cooperation and support from other parties such as the community, provincial government, central government, and academics. For this reason, further cooperation is needed from these multi-sectors so that green open space can be fulfilled in Bantan District Urban, both in quality and quantity.
