Strategi Keberlanjutan Pengelolaan Rumah Potong Hewan Bangkinang Kabupaten Kampar
The Slaughterhouse (RPH) plays an important role in supporting food security and the economy, but it also has a significant environmental impact if not managed sustainably. Waste generated, such as blood, rumen, manure, and leftover feed, can pollute the environment if not properly managed. Based on observations at RPH Bangkinang, with 3-5 cattle slaughtered daily, the waste produced amounts to 1,215-2,025 kg of blood, 3,600-6,000 kg of rumen, and 1,575-2,625 kg of manure per month. However, waste management at RPH Bangkinang is still minimal due to simple facilities, poorly maintained pen conditions, and limited budget for wastewater quality testing. An analysis based on the Ministry of Environment Regulation No. 5 of 2014 is needed to ensure proper waste management according to quality standards and support the long-term sustainability of RPH Bangkinang in meeting market demands that increasingly consider environmental impacts.
This research was conducted from June 2024 to May 2025 at RPH Bangkinang, located in Pasir Sialang Subdistrict, Bangkinang District, Kampar Regency. The aim of this study is to assess the existing management conditions of RPH Bangkinang from ecological, economic, social, institutional legal perspectives, and technological. Additionally, this research seeks to analyze the sustainability level of its management and formulate appropriate strategies to enhance sustainable management. This study utilizes two types of data: primary and secondary data. Primary data were obtained through observations, questionnaires, and interviews with relevant stakeholders, involving direct inspections and measurements at the site. Meanwhile, secondary data include various literature sources and supporting data from relevant institutions. A quantitative approach was applied in this study, using descriptive analysis techniques with Multi-Dimensional Scaling (MDS)The research findings indicated that the current management of RPH Bangkinang from an ecological aspect still requires improvements in the wastewater treatment plant (IPAL) and crematorium.....
