campur kode dalam novel anak-anak langit karya mohd amin ms
This study aims to analyze the use of inner and outer code mixing in the novel
Anak-anak Langit by Mohd Amin MS. The method used is descriptive qualitative
with a sociopragmatic approach. Data were collected through reading and notetaking
techniques. Data analysis techniques were carried out through data
reduction, presentation, and conclusion. The results of the study showed that there
was an inner code mixing phenomenon, namely the use of Indonesian with Melayu,
Minang, and Jawa up to 32 datums. While the outer code mixing included
Indonesian with Arabic and English up to 103 datums. The most dominant code
mixing in this study was inner code mixing because it reflects the story's setting
while strengthening the characterization and cultural background of the
characters. As for outer code mixing, it is due to the influence of globalization,
social status, and expressive needs in communication. Whereas in the datum, outer
code mixing is more dominant. This is because the context of the story focuses on
life in a modern Islamic boarding school, so the characters use more outer code
mixing speech.
Keywords: language; code mixing; sociopragmatics.
