Indonesia is the second highest nation with tuberculosis in the world. Indicators of successful national TB program has not been achieved by Riau Province. Since 2015, the target and strategy of national TB control has been focusing on involvement of private general practitioners because most private general practitioners has not been involved with the national TB program, they mostly didn’t know about International Standards for Tuberculosis Care (ISTC), and most of them have not trained about ISTC. This study aimed to determine knowledge, attitude and practice of private general practitioners (PGPs) about diagnosis and management of pulmonary tuberculosis based on ISTC. This studywas a descriptive study with cross sectional approach. Data were collected at 63 PGPs in Dumai City using questionnaire instrument. Most of the PGPsnever heard about ISTC (73.0%) and have not completed ISTC training before (93.75%). Most PGPs have good knowledge (52.4%) although PGPs who only work in private health center have less knowledge (36.8%). Most PGPs have positive attitude (52.4%) and fair practice (39.7%). This study conclude that although most PGPs have good knowledge but less than 50% and ISTC have not reached most of PGP, there should be a socialization of ISTC to PGPs.
