Pengaruh Kelainan Refraksi Terhadap Prestasi Belajar Murid Sdn 106 Pekanbaru Kecamatan Rumbai Pesisir
Academic achievement is influenced by internal and external factors. One of the internal factor is eyes health. Refractive error can be a potential disruption on student’s academic achievement. This study aimed to determine the effect of refractive error on academic achievement of students from SDN 106 Pekanbaru. This is analytical observational study with cross-sectional approach. The sampling technique used was total sampling method in 555 students. Visus examination was used to detect refractive error and school ranking was used as a reference for student’s academic achievement. The prevalence of refractive error among students was 16%. Moreover, this study did not show any differences in academic achievement among children with or without refractive error. Therefore, this study conclude that refractive error did not effect to academic achievement in elementary school students.
