LBP is the oftenly-discovered case in hospitals with the main symptom of pain in the lumbar or lumbo-sacral and is often followed by the referred pain towards the legs. One of the risk factors that potentially causes LBP is a high body mass index (BMI). Being overweight can increase the load on the spine and pressure on the vertebral discs. This is a descriptive analytical study with cross-sectional approach. There were 31 subjects in this study and the variables measured were gender, age, occupation, BMI, and the pain scale. The data were analyzed using Chi Square test. There were 16 patients (51,6%) with overweight BMI and the largest proportion of patients with severe pain degree is17 patients (54,8%). Chi Square analysis showed that there was a significant correlation between body mass index (IMT) and degree of the pain scale of low back pain (LBP) patients with p value 0,049.
