Potensi Interaksi Obat Pada Pasien Geriatri Yang Dirawat Di Bangsal Penyakit Dalam Rsudarifin Achmad Provinsi Riau Tahun 2016

Geriatric patients often have multipathologic disease. In giving therapy, geriatric patients often get some kind of medicine. The use of drugs in large quantities at the same time will be increase the potential for drug interactions that can harm patients. This study aims to determine the incidence of drug interactions in geriatric patients treated in hospital wards in RSUD ArifinAchmad Riau Province in 2016. This study is a retrospective descriptive study using secondary data form patient’s medical records. The sample used was 300 which has been in accordance with the inclusion criteria. The number of male geriatric patients more than women with the most age group is 60-74 years (83%). The most widely used financing status of patients is using JKN (80.7%). The most diagnosis was suffered by patients is digestive disorder with hospital out condition generally is cured (76%). Most geriatric patients get 1-5 drugs as much (50.3%) with the most class of drugs are gastrointestinal drugs as much as 542 drug use. The potential interaction and severity of the interactions in this study was assessed based on Medscape application, and obtained from 1750 drug use, there were 342 potentially interacting drug treatments consisting of 24 interactions with serious severity, 206 moderate interactions, and 112 minor interactions.
