Korelasi Antara Jumlah Lesi Jerawat Dengan Indeks Massa Tubuh Pada Mahasiswa Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Riau
Acne vulgaris is a skin disorder that often occurs especially in adolescent and young adult. Acne Vulgaris is due to chronic inflammation of the pilosebaceous unit characterized by open or closed comedones and inflammatory lesions such as papule, pustule, and nodule or cyst. Acne vulgaris is caused by various risk factors. Nutritional status as a risk factor of acne vulgaris is still a controversy. Nutritional status can be determined by measuring body mass index. The purpose of this study is to determine the correlation between acne lesions count with body mass index in students of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Riau. The Assessment of acne lesions count using criteria by Lehmann 2002 and direct body mass index measurements were performed on the subjects. The design of this study was observational analytic with cross-sectional design. The subjects of this study were 139 students of class of 2014-2017 the Faculty of Medicine, University of Riau. The results were analyzed using Spearman correlation test showed no correlation between the number of acne lesions with body mass index in the students of the Faculty of Medicine University of Riau (p = 0.635).
