Hubungan Konsumsi Serat Dengan Pola Defekasi Pada Mahasiswa Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Riau Tahun Pertama Angkatan 2017
Dietary fiber is a carbohydrate family defined as the residue of plant, that is undigested by human. This study observed the relationship between fiber consumption and bowel habit among the first year medical students of Universitas Riau. Sample size were 92 subjects. Fiber consumption and bowel behavior were collected by using a semi-quantitative food frequency questionnaire. Data were categorized and analyzed by using SPSS software. The differences were calculated using Kolmogorov–Smirnov test. It showed that most of the students (88%) had low fiber-consumption, however they had normal bowel habit (80,4% and 71,7% had normal stool frequency and consistency, respectively).
