Gambaran Hidrosefalus Pada Anak Yang Dirawat Di Rsud Arifin Achmad Provinsi Riau Tahun 2014 - 2016
Pediatric hydrocephalus were common problem encounter in neurosurgery. Hydrocephalus was an excessive collection of cerebral fluid in the ventricular system or a normal cerebrospinal fluid space which caused dilation of the ventricular system and an increase in intracranial pressure. One way to find out hydrocephalus abnormalities in children is to monitoring the size of the head circumference and anterior fontanelle. This study was aiming to describe the overview of pediatric hydrocephalus in Arifin Achmad General Hospital of Riau Province in 2014 - 2016 based on sex, age, head circumference, intracranial pressure, anterior fontanelle, tumor history, trauma history, infection history, operation history and management of pediatric hydrocephalus. This research used descriptive method by collect data in Medical Record department of Arifin Achmad General Hospital of Riau Province. Total sampling was the technique of taking sample in this research. There were 34 samples obtained in this study. The result of this study was representing that pediatric hydrocephalus patient were mostly men, as many as 61,8%. The largest age group >18 month by 67,6%. Macrocephaly was the most common result of head circumference, as many as 64,7%. Increase of intracranial pressure was causing 100% of all cases. There were 32,4% pediatric hydrocephalus patients were having symptoms of bulging fontanel. There were 29,4% patients were having history of tumor. A total of 17,6% pediatric hydrocephalus patients were having history of trauma. There were 38,2% pediatric hydrocephalus patients were having history of infection. As many as 2,9% of pediatric hydrocephalus patients were having sunset appearance symptoms. The most common management of pediatric hydrocephalus are surgery and medicated as much as 64.7% and in classification pediatric hydrocephalus based on development were found acquired hydrocephalus as much as 79,4%.
