Hubungan Pola Aktifitas Fisik Dengan Tekanan Darah Pada Pasien Diabetes Di Beberapa Puskesmas Kota Pekanbaru
Diabetes Melitus (DM) is a metabolic disease marked by hyperglycemia due to deficiency of insulin production (type 1 DM) or insulin resistence (type 2 DM). Hypertension is common among diabetic patients which can increase the mortality from DM complication. Physical activities have important role in the prevention and management of DM and hypertension. The purpose of this research was to examine the levels of physical activities of diabetics patients and it’s association with hypertension incidence. This study was analytical observational study with cross sectional approach. The study samples of included 106 type 2 DM patients recruited from Sidomulyo and Simpang Tiga Public Health Center in Pekanbaru from May-June 2018. Hypertension was found in 62,3% of DM patients. DM patients with hypertension were mostly women (62,1%), aged >55 years old (60,7%), had high school education (60,6%), unemployed (51,5%), had family history of DM (74,2%), and had no smoking history (80,3%). As much as 68,2% of DM patients with hypertension consumed were than one of oral antihyperglicemic and the same proportion were on antihypertension drug. This study also showed that there was association between family history of DM (p=0,038), and physical activities (p=0,010) the development of hypertension among DM patients.
