Prarancangan Pabrik Benzene, Toluene, Dan Xylene (Btx) Menggunakan Proses Cyclar Bp/Uop Dengan Disain Alat Utama Reaktor Dehidrogenasi Parafin (R-101)
ABSTRACT
The development of the chemical industry in Indonesia is growing rapidly. One of the chemical industries established in Indonesia is benzene, toluene and xylene (BTX). Benzene, toluene, and xylene (BTX) can be produced through the catalytic reforming process from naphtha. The chemical process that occurs is described as a dehydrocyclodimerization process and thermodynamically this process takes place at a temperature of 400°C-600°C (800-1000°F). The reactions that occur are dehydrogenation, oligomerization and cyclization, these reactions use an acid catalyst. The last reaction is the dehydrogenation of naphtha to become aromatic. This reaction is very suitable under the operating conditions of cyclar processes, resulting in high naphthene conversion. The results of the economic analysis of the Benzene, Toluene, and Xylene Factory design with the Cyclar BP/OUP Process are (1) The BEP (Break event Point) obtained in this plant design is 40.879%. (2) ROI (Rate of Investment) obtained in this design is 36.298%. (3) The IRR (Interest Rate of Return) obtained in this design is 22.752%. (4) The PBP (Pay Back Period) obtained in this design is 5 years. From the data from the calculation of the economic analysis above, it can be concluded that the Benzene, toluene, and xylene (BTX) plant with the cyclar BP/OUP process is feasible to establish.
