Karakteristik Morfologi Dan Uji Fitokimia Daun Fabaceae Di Kawasan Universitas Riau
ABSTRACT
Riau University is one of to distribution area of Fabaceae family. The purpose of this study was to characterize the morphological characteristics of Fabaceae leaves in this area and to identify their phytochemical compounds. Sampling in the field was carried out by using the exploratory method. Leaf morphology were used to be analyzed using NTSys to constuct dendrogram. The secondary metabolites tested in this study are alkaloid, flavonoid, saponin, tannin, steroid and terpenoid. The positive results of its metabolite is indicated by (+) symbols. Otherwise, negative results is indicated by (-) symbol. A total of 12 Fabaceae species are recorded in this study. These species belong to three subfamilies namely Mimosoideae (6 species), Caesalpinoideae (3 species) and Faboideae (3 species). The leaf morphology of all of Fabaceae species show variation on its type, size and shape. In phytochemical test, the metabolites found in fabaceae leaf are alkaloid (2 species), flavonoid (2 species), saponin (6 species), tannin (9 species), steroid (9 species) and terpenoid (3 species). The similarity matrix based on leaf morphological characters ranges from 0,09 to 0,81. The dendrogram divided into two main cluster based on leaf type.
Key findings: Fabaceae, Morphology, Phytochemicals, Leave.
