Prarancangan Pabrik T-BUTYL ALCOHOL Dari Isobuten Dan Air Berkapasitas 330.000 Ton/Tahun Dengan Desain Alat Utama Reaktor FIXED BED (R-101)
Tertiary Butyl Alcohol is an alcohol compound with the molecular formula C4H9OH. In the current industrial era, tertiary butyl alcohol is produced as a finished product and as an intermediate product. Tertiary butyl alcohol is used as a chemical solvent and also in the pharmaceutical field, while intermediate products are used as raw materials for the process of making methyl tertiary butyl ether and tertiary butyl ether. The main raw material used in making tertiary butyl alcohol using the hydration process is isobutene. This factory is planned to operate for 330 days per year and work continuously 24 hours/day with a capacity of 330,000 tons/year which will be established in the city of Cilegon, Banten. The company form chosen is a Limited Liability Company (LLC) with a line and staff organizational system. The employee work system is based on the division of working hours consisting of shift and non-shift employees. The main equipment design in this factory is a Fixed Bed Reactor (R-101) which functions to hydrate isobutene into tertiary butyl alcohol. This fixed bed reactor is operated at a pressure of 15 atm and a temperature of 150 ⁰C, using a Dowex-50 catalyst. Economic analysis in the design of this factory shows that this factory is feasible to build. With a Break Event Point (BEP) value of 30%, Pay Back Period (PBP) of 2.8 years, Rate of Investment (ROI) of 36%, and Interest Rate of Return (IRR) of 22.76%.
