Prarancangan Pabrik Ethylene Glicol Dari Dimetil Oksalat Dan Hydrogen Dengan Desain Alat Utama Reaktor Fluidized Bed (R-101)
Pre-design of an ethylene glycol plant from dimethyl oxalate and hydrogen or PT. Glycol Chemicals has a production capacity of 210,000 tons/year with a total production capacity per day for 330 days of 636.3 tons/day. The factory will be established in the Krakatau Industrial Estate Cilegon (KIEC) Industrial Area, Citangkil District, Cilegon City, Banten in 2025. The process used in this factory is hydrogenation of dimethyl oxalate in a fluidized bed reactor (R-101) at a temperature of 433ᵒK pressure of 25 bar, and is exothermic with ∆H -413240.5091 kJ/hour. The reactor output will go through a purification stage, namely through a flash drum (F-101) to recover hydrogen, a distillation tower (T-101) to separate side products, namely methanol, a distillation tower (T-102) to produce ethylene glycol with a purity of 99% . The main product ethylene glycol has a purity of 99%. The number of process employees required at this factory is 39 people. The results of the economic feasibility analysis of PT. Glycol Chemicals has a pay back period of 1.574 years, Internal Rate of Return is 22.253%, Return of Investment is 63.55%, Break Even Point is 41%.
