Prarancangan Pabrik High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) Proses CX-Mitsui Dengan Disain Alat Utama Reaktor Light Molecular Weight (R-201)
High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) is a chemical compound with the molecular formula (-CH2-CH2-)n. HDPE has slightly opaque characteristics and is transparent and elastic. This chemical has a melting point above 127°C at 1 atm pressure. One of the processes that can be used in synthesizing HDPE is the CX-Mitsui process with Ziegler-Natta catalyst which operates at a pressure of 0.2-0.7 MPa and a temperature of 75-86°C. The CX-Mitsui process consists of 2 continuous stirred tank reactors of identical size operated in series or parallel arrangement. The main ingredient in the manufacture of HDPE is ethylene, the diluent is hexane, the chain transfer agent is hydrogen and the comonomer used is 1-butene. The purpose of the CX-Mitsui process HDPE plant is intended to meet the domestic demand for HDPE which is mostly imported and has export opportunities that are still wide open. The plant will be established in Cilegon Industrial Estate, Banten. Provision of HDPE plant utility needs in the form of water supply and treatment units, steam supply units, instrument air supply units, waste treatment units and fuel supply units. The planned form of the company in this calcium hydroxide plant is a Limited Liability Company (PT) with a line and staff type organizational structure. Based on the results of economic analysis, this HDPE plant is feasible to establish with a BEP value of 60%, ROI of 16.33%, IRR of 23.16%, and PBP for 4 years and 1 month.
