Prarancangan Pabrik Phenol Menggunakan Proses Versalis/Lummus Technology Dengan Disain Alat Utama Reaktor Cstr (R-102)
Phenol is anintermediate product that is needed by many downstream industry. The uses od phenol include as a raw material in the manufacture of phenolic resins which are widely used in the sandpaper industry and wood industry as well as in the manufacture of phenol aldehyde resins. The main raw material used is cumene using the versalis/lummus technology process. This factory is planned to operate for 330 days for year and work continuosly 24 hours/day with a capacity of 250,000 tons/year which will be established in the city of Dumail, Riau. The company form chosen is a Limited Liability Company (PT) with a line and staff organizational system. The employee work system is based on the division of working hours consisting of shift and non-shift employees. The main equipment design in this factory is a cleavage reactor (R-102) with a continuous strirred tank reactor type which functions to phenol and acetone. This continuous stirred tank reactor is operated at a pressure of 5 atm and a temperature of 115⁰C. Economic analysis in the design of this factory shows that this factory is feasible to build. With a Break Event Point (BEP) value of 42%, Pay Back Period (PBP) of 1.7 years, Rate of Investment (ROI) of 45.04%, and Interest Rate of Return (IRR) of 22.745%.
