Prarancangan Pabrik Hexamine Dari Formaldehid Proses Meissner Dengan Desain Alat Utama Hexamine Reactor (R-101)
Hexamine is a chemical commonly used as a raw material for making explosives. Apart from being used as a raw material for explosives, hexamine is widely used in various fields, including: the medical field, industrial fields, such as metals, fertilizers, resins, rubber, textiles, cellulose fiber foods, and others. Making hexamine compounds using the Meissner process. The factory being established will operate 330 days per year and work continuously 24 hours with a capacity of 10,000 tons/year. The factory will be established in Palembang City, South Sumatra. The company form applied is a Limited Liability Company (PT). The employee work system is based on the division of working hours consisting of shift and non-shift employees. The main equipment designed for the factory is a Continuous Stirred Tank Reactor (R-101) which functions to form hexamine compounds by reacting formaldehyde and ammonia. This reactor is operated at a pressure of 16 atm with isothermal conditions (30°C). Economic analysis of the factory shows that the factory is feasible to establish. With a Break Even Point (BEP) value of 46%, Payback Period (PBP) of 1 year 3 months, Rate of Investment (ROI) of 63.185%, and Internal Rate of Return (IRR) of 22.75%.
Keywords: Hexamine, Continous Stirred Tank Reactor, Meissner Process.
