Prarancangan Pabrik Benzil Klorida Proses Klorinasi Toluen Dengan Desain Alat Utama Reaktor Klorinasi (R-101)
ABSTRACT
Benzyl Chloride is a chemical with organic components in liquid form and is colorless to yellowish and is also used by industries such as the perfume manufacturing industry, dyes (paint, crayons, etc.), pharmaceuticals and the chemical industry. The manufacture of Benzyl Chloride at this factory uses the Chlorination process. This factory is planned to operate for 330 days per year and work continuously 24 hours/day with a capacity of 15,000 tons/year which will be established in Lebak district, Banten. The company form chosen is a Limited Liability Company (PT) with a line and staff organizational system. The employee work system is based on the division of working hours consisting of shift and non- shift employees. The main equipment design in this factory is a Chlorination Reactor (R-101) which functions to separate Benzyl Chloride from Benzal Chloride. This Distillation Column is operated at a pressure of 1 atm and a dew point temperature of 452.37 ⁰K and a bubble point temperature of 485.02 ⁰K. Economic analysis in the design of this factory shows that this factory is feasible to build. With a Break Event Point (BEP) value of 40%, Pay Back Period (PBP) of 2.29 years, Rate of Investment (ROI) of 39.51%, and Interest Rate of Return (IRR) of 22.63%.
