Prarancangan Pabrik Kaprolaktam Dari Asam Benzoat Proses Snia-Viscosa Dengan Desain Alat Utama Reaktor Hidrogenasi (R-201)
ABSTRACT
Caprolactam is one of the petrochemical industry products that is currently increasingly needed. The use of caprolactam products in the industrial world is very extensive. This can be seen from its use in the caproic amino acid plastics industry, polyurethanes, car paints, and mainly used as raw material for nylon-6. Caprolactam is also required in the film, imitation leather, synthetic fiber, plasticizer, and car paint industries. Caprolactam is circulated in the market in the form of flakes, granules and molten sold in paper bags, drums, and tanks. The process used in this caprolactam plant proposal is the SNIA-Viscosa process. The manufacture of caprolactam from benzoic acid feedstock by the SNIA-Viscosa process is based on the hydrogenation reaction of benzoic acid and the caprolactam formation reaction through the nitrosation decarboxylation reaction of cyclohexane carboxylic acid. The economic analysis of the plant shows an ROI value of 26.367%, PBP of 3.32 years, IRR of 22.763%, and BEP value of 44%. Based on the results of the economic analysis, it can be concluded that the caprolactam plant from benzoic acid with SNIA-Viscosa process is feasible.
