Perancangan Study Café Di Pekanbaru Dengan Pendekatan Biophilic Architecture
ABSTRACT
The design of the Study Café in Pekanbaru responds to the growing need for informal learning spaces and alternative workplaces that promote psychological well-being within dense urban environments. Alongside the rising trend of studying in cafés, the phenomenon of Work From Café has also encouraged the development of multifunctional public spaces that support productivity. The demand for spaces that accommodate both activities continues to increase, especially in urban areas. This Study Café is designed to serve both students and professionals by providing study rooms, discussion areas, a library, Wi-Fi facilities, and private spaces such as meeting rooms and client discussion areas. To address stress and fatigue associated with learning and working, a biophilic architectural approach is applied, emphasizing the human–nature connection. Fourteen principles of biophilic design are integrated to create an environment that is calming, reduces stress, and enhances focus and productivity. This approach enables the integration of individual learning and social interaction within a comfortable atmosphere, while also delivering a spatial experience that resonates emotionally with nature through the fusion of function, aesthetics, and biophilic principles.
