Abstract
Dance is a part of art that emphasizes rhythmic body movements at a certain place and time to express emotions, intentions, and thoughts. Dance education is a conscious effort to prepare students through education and training activities to acquire skills that are in accordance with the roles they are expected to play Schools are formal educational institutions that aim to develop quality human resources. However, education does not only take place in the school environment (formal) but also outside the school (informal). Colleges are universities that organize academic education and can organize vocational education in one particular family of science and / or technology and if qualified, high schools can organize professional education. In Indonesia, higher education has similarities with universities and institutes. The difference is that higher education consists of only one faculty and is divided into several departments related to the faculty. In Pekanbaru, the development of public interest and talent for dance is quite a lot, it can be seen from the many dance studios in Pekanbaru. This College of Dance is intended as a means of education and information about the world of dance education today. Dance colleges currently do not exist in Pekanbaru so this dance college is needed in Pekanbaru for students who have an interest in dance to learn more about dance. The design of the Dance College in Pekanbaru uses the Neo Vernacular Architecture theme. Through this application, the building can apply traditional and modern elements to the building without eliminating existing cultural elements. The design of the College of Dance uses qualitative research methods obtained from the collection of primary data and secondary data. Through this design, it is expected that the College of Dance can be a means of education for people who have an interest in dance.
