ABSTRACT Woodyard is the earliest department in a pulp and paper mill that processes wood into chip pieces using a chipper or commonly referred to as the chipping process. In the chipping process, problems often occur regarding the sharpness of the blade (blade life time). In this final project, an analysis of the effect of Andritz blade life time on chip acceptance and reject fractions from Eucalyptus and Acacia crassicarpa wood was carried out based on the results of the research conducted, it can be concluded that the percentage of chip acceptance and reject fraction of Eucalyptus wood meets the set target. While the percentage of chip acceptance and reject fraction of Acacia crassicarpa wood partly meets the set target and some do not meet the target.
