Analisis Penggunaan Bleached Chemi Thermo-Mechanical Pulp (Bctmp) Terhadap Bulky, Grammature, Dan Ash Content Pada Copy Paper 70 Gsm

ABSTRACT
Paper is often used as a medium for writing, printing, and various other purposes. In the production process, the quality of paper is greatly influenced by the type of pulp used. One alternative pulp that is increasingly being used is Bleached Chemi Thermo-Mechanical Pulp (BCTMP), a semi-chemical pulp with high bulky properties and lower production costs than kraft pulp. This study aims to analyze the effect of using BCTMP on the physical characteristics of 70 GSM copy paper, especially on the parameters of bulky, grammature, and ash content. The results showed that increasing the dosage of BCTMP significantly increased the bulky and ash content values, but caused a slight decrease in grammature. In addition, the use of BCTMP also affected the filler composition, where the use of Precipitated Calcium Carbonate (PCC) decreased and Ground Calcium Carbonate (GCC) tended to increase.
