Pengaruh Perbedaan Rasio Raw Material (Hardwood, Softwood, Bctmp) Setelah Beating Terhadap Kualitas Kertas
ABSTRACT
Paper making is a process of arranging fiber into sheets. During the papermaking
process, water is removed from the fiber network, resulting in increasingly tight
bonds bween fibers and accompanied by changes in th shape of the fibers to flat.
Fiber blending is a paper production technique based on a combination and
mixing of different fibers. Compared of using 100% of the same type of fiber,
blending fibers using different combinations can increase the value of paper
properties, cover fiber weaknesses and provide potential benefits that can be
provided by the fibers. By using beating process, will help on fiber fibrilation
process wich give a better paper quality. Properties on paper, both from fiber test
to strength test and paper optical tests are very important in determining good
paper quality. In this practical work report, the author analyzed the content of
fiber and paper properties entitled “The Effect of Differences in Raw material
Ratios (Hardwood, Softwood, BCTMP) on Paper Quality”. The fiber properties
analyzed were the curl, fines and fibrillation. The paper strength tests tested were
internal bonding, tearing strength, tensile indeks and burst strength. Optical
testing of paper is also important, where the test carried out were opacity, ISO
brightness and whiteness. Based on the tests carried out, the best results from
most of the tests were obtained in blend 2*.
