Analisa Pengaruh Variasi Kecepatan Dan Waktu Pengadukan Terhadap Proses Flokulasi Pada Sampel Limbah
ABSTRACT
Flocculation is an important stage in wastewater treatment, where fine particles are combined into larger flocs for easy settling. This study aims to analyze the effect of variations in speed and stirring time on the effectiveness of the flocculation process in pulp and paper industry waste samples. In this study, testing was carried out using the jar test method using variations in slow stirring speed and different stirring times to determine the optimal conditions for forming flocs. The parameters analyzed included pH, Total Suspended Solid (TSS), and turbidity. The results obtained showed that variations in stirring speed and time had a significant effect on the efficiency of the flocculation process. It was found that certain combinations of speed and time can reduce TSS and turbidity values maximally, thus improving the quality of treated water. This study contributes to determining the optimal operational parameters for wastewater treatment processes, especially in the pulp and paper industry, in order to produce effluent that complies with environmental quality standards.
