Penentuan Suhu Dan Waktu Reaksi Pada Reaktor Tahap D1 Proses Bleaching Kraft Pulp Terhadap Brightness, Fiber Morphology Dan Tensile Strength
ABSTRACT
Bleaching is an important step in the kraft pulp production process, as it plays a direct role in increasing brightness. Measuring brightness, strength and other characteristics is important to ensure that the pulp meets the desired standards. In this study, the focus is on the D1 stage of the bleaching process, which uses the active ingredient chlorine dioxide (ClO₂), with the aim of finding out the most optimal temperature and time for the bleaching results to provide the best pulp quality. This research was conducted at PT Riau Andalan Pulp and Paper, by experimenting with several variations of temperature and bleaching process time. Parameters observed included brightness, fiber morphology, and tensile strength. Data analysis was conducted statistically to see the extent of the influence of temperature and time variables on bleaching results, as well as to determine the most optimal combination of parameters. From the results obtained, it is known that the temperature and time of the bleaching process affect the final quality of the pulp. A temperature of 80°C and a time of 80 to 100 minutes is the most optimal combination in the pulp bleaching process. The results of this study are expected to contribute to the improvement of the bleaching process, thus supporting the efficiency and quality of products in the pulp and paper industry.
