This study aims to: (1) analyze the role of learning community facilitators
in supporting teachers at SMP Negeri 42 Pekanbaru City in implementing the
kurikulum merdeka; (2) identify the challenges faced by teachers in understanding
and implementing project-based learning to achieve the Pancasila Student Profile;
(3) describe the strategies implemented by learning community facilitators to
improve the quality of learning; (4) evaluate the effectiveness of the learning
community in assisting teachers to develop pedagogical skills and teaching
innovations.
This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study
method. Data collection techniques include document analysis, observation, and
interviews. The informants/subjects of this study are school elements that serve as
data sources, including learning community facilitators, principals, teachers, and
students. The data obtained are in the form of descriptive qualitative data.
The research results regarding The Role of Learning Community
Facilitators in Improving the Quality of Kurikulum Merdeka Implementation at
Public Junior High Schools in Tuah Madani District, Pekanbaru City include: (1)
Learning community facilitators assist teachers in implementing kurikulum
merdeka through collaboration and sharing of best practices; (2) Teachers face
various challenges in implementing the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening
Project (P5), such as difficulties in systematically designing project sequences and
stages, limited time due to a packed academic schedule, and obstacles in conducting
comprehensive and continuous project-based learning assessments; (3) The
strategies implemented include practical training, the use of technology, interschool
collaboration, and partnerships with policymakers to support the
implementation of kurikulum merdeka and P5 projects; (4) Learning communities
are effective in enhancing pedagogical skills and encouraging teacher innovation.
The conclusion drawn is that learning community facilitators play a crucial
role in supporting teachers to implement kurikulum merdeka, sharing best practices,
and collaborating with various strategies and policies to enhance teachers' teaching
skills.
