Perancangan Children’s Play Center Di Rokan Hulu Dengan Pendekatan Arsitektur Ekspresionis
ABSTRACT
A third of Indonesia's population consists of children, with a total of around 80
million children, making up the fourth largest child population in the world.
Indonesian children are the nation's most valuable asset as a determinant of
Indonesia's future. Children are a golden age of human growth and development.
Children can continue to grow and develop every day through play. Based on data
from the Central Statistics Agency (2020), the number of children in Rokan Hulu is
231,055. Meanwhile, in Rokan Hulu there is no availability of a place that can
provide facilities for children to express themselves, a place to play or play. The
existing play facilities are combined with other facilities such as kindergartens and
recreational facilities in one open space. In general, children play in the house, the
limited yard, in residential alleys, or on the streets. Some parents also worry about
how their child becomes sick, dirty and injured while playing outside. The need to
ensure that children have play areas that are well designed, safe, and provide a
play environment that can stimulate children's development encourages the
formation of a Children's Play Center. With the existence of Children's Play Center,
it can help improve the quality of Indonesian children. Expressionist architecture
is architecture that expresses emotions or feelings through the expression of shapes,
colors, materials and structures in buildings. The application of Expressionist
Architecture to the design of the Children's Play Center in Rokan Hulu encourages
children to channel emotions and express the feelings that children express through
play. The emotions and feelings of children can also be felt by all users.
