With broadcasting, the public can get actual and fast information. Information broadcast by broadcasting providers or broadcasting companies is increasingly out of control, so it is necessary for the government to supervise and regulate Indonesian broadcasting called with KPI.
In this research, researchers will see what Riau KPID's supervision of the Network Broadcasting Station (SSJ) looks like. There are several things behind this research, especially related to the implementation of SSJ local content broadcasts in Riau Province. This research uses descriptive qualitative research methods using in-depth interview data collection techniques, which include interviewing the Commissioner of KPID Riau Asril Darma and SCTV local content leaders. In this research, what will be studied is related to what the communication policy is about broadcasting SSJ local content, what is the implementation of communication policies, and evaluation of local content from SSJ.
The results of this study obtained a communication policy regarding the local context of SSJ. Local broadcast programs must be produced and broadcast with a duration of at least 10% for television and at least 60% for radio. Regarding the implementation of SSJ local content in the broadcasting process, it is indeed appropriate, but in terms of the content of the broadcast, when the evaluation is carried out, it is not sufficient.
