Strategi Bandung Sebagai Kota Kreatif Dalam Unesco Creative Cities Network (Uccn)
Bandung is one of the city in Indonesia that was included in the UNESCO
Creative Cities Network in 2015. The effort of Bandung as a UNESCO Creative
City is carried out directly by the dossier team formed by the Bandung
Government. After becoming part of the UNESCO Creative City, Bandung has an
obligation to implement the commitments that have been written in the application
for the Creative City submission.
This qualitative study asks the strategies used by the Regional Government
(Pemda) in following the international development agenda. To answer this
phenomenon, data from books, journals, news, direct interviews and official
documents from the Bandung City Government are needed. Paradiplomacy theory
is used by researchers to analyze data and obtain research results.
Research shows that Bandung is one of the cities that uses paradiplomacy to
form a creative city. The concept of the Creative City which is implemented in the
City of Bandung is one of the strategies used by the Government of the City of
Bandung in responding to the economic problems of the Bandung people by
focusing on the development of the creative economy through the Department of
Culture and Tourism in the Creative Economy Sector of the City of Bandung.
Meanwhile, in the pursuit of Bandung as a creative city that is recognized by the
world, Bandung first registered and was
elected in 2015. Then implemented the written commitments. Bandung's
paradiplomacy is attending various UCCN Meetings, carrying the Design Action
.bdg mission as "Citizens as Change Makers", conducting International
Cooperation, participating in International Conferences, establishing a Bandung
representative for UNESCO. So that the 2015-2019 activity report sent by
Bandung received a very good and excellent assessment from UNESCO.
