ABSTRACT
Methyl Methacrylate is a chemical with organic components for leather coatings, the cosmetics industry, the paint industry, the household equipment industry, the polymer industry and for other industries. The manufacture of Methyl Methacrylate at this factory uses the Direct Oxidative Esterification process. This factory is planned to operate for 330 days per year and work continuously 24 hours/day with a capacity of 250,000 tons/year which will be established in the city of Bontang, East Kalimantan. The company form chosen is a Limited Liability Company (PT) with a line and staff organizational system. The employee work system is based on the division of working hours consisting of shift and non-shift employees. The main equipment design in this factory is a Reactor Netralzier (R-102). Economic analysis in the design of this factory shows that this factory is feasible to build. Based on the results of the economic feasibility of the factory, a methyl methacrylate from methacrolein factory is feasible to be established with a PBP of 2.01 years, IRR of 22.63%, ROI of 39.51%, and BEP of 41.1%.
