Pengaruh Raw Material Dan Tekanan Vacuum Terhadap Dryness Pada Forming Section

ABSTRACT
Forming section is one of the key stages in the papermaking process, where fiber sheets begin to form from a mixture of pulp and water. This stage determines the initial characteristics of the paper sheet, including fiber distribution and Dryness. In the papermaking process, the level of Dryness in the forming section is one of the important parameters that affect process efficiency and the quality of the final product. Dryness is influenced by various factors, one of which is the nature of the raw materials used. This will be elaborated in the final project report, namely “The Effect of Raw Material on Dryness in the Forming Section” which aims to study the factors that can affect Dryness, and study the effect of raw material use on Dryness. Data collection used in this study was carried out secondarily with data that had been obtained previously in laboratory tests which were then analyzed in graphical form. Based on the analyzed data, the Dryness obtained by using Eucalyptus raw material of 37.89% has an even Dryness in the forming section. While using Acacia Crassicarpa of 56.04% has an uneven Dryness value in the forming section. Where if the higher the use of Eucalyptus wood species, the Dryness value will be in accordance with the standards in each vacuum section. Vice versa, if the higher the use of Acacia wood, the Dryness value will be more difficult to achieve in each vacuum section.
