Pengaruh Pemberian Probiotik Oxygenic Dengan Dosis Yang Berbeda Terhadap Pertumbuhan Dan Kelulus Hidupan Ikan Patin (Pangasius Hypophthalmus) Dengan Sistem Aerasi
Catfish is one of the leading freshwater aquaculture commodities in Indonesia that has high economic value and rapid growth. The demand for catfish continues to increase due to its high protein content and low cholesterol levels. However, the intensive cultivation system that is commonly used often causes a decrease in water quality due to the accumulation of leftover feed and metabolites. Decreased water quality can trigger stress, reduce fish immunity, and increase the risk of death. One alternative solution in maintaining the quality of aquaculture water is the use of probiotics. Oxygenic probiotics, which contain bacteria such as Nitrosomonas, Nitrobacter, Rhodobacter, and Saccharomyces, play an important role in breaking down toxic compounds such as ammonia. In addition to improving water quality, probiotics also support fish digestive performance. However, the effectiveness of probiotics is greatly influenced by the application dose. The study was conducted in March 2025 at the Cultivation Technology Laboratory, Department of Aquaculture, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, University of Riau. This study aims to determine the effect of administering oxygenic probiotics to catfish, as well as to obtain the optimal dose. The method used is the experimental method using a one-factor Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with four treatment levels and three replications. The treatments used were P0 (Control), P1 (1.5 mL/L), P2 (2.5 mL), and P3 (3.5 mL/L), and P4 (4.5 mL/L), Maintenance activities were carried out for 30 days. The results of this study concluded that the P3 treatment gave the best results, with an average absolute weight of 4.44 ± 0.03 g, an average absolute length of 3.41 ± 0.01 cm, a specific growth rate of 4.37 ± 0.05%, a survival rate of 95.5 ± 3.85% and a feed conversion of 1.32 ± 0.005. With water quality parameters, namely temperature ranging from 25.86-29oC, pH ranging from 6.1-8.1, dissolved oxygen ranging from 4.1-7.2 mg/L, ammonia ranging from 0.003-0.168 mg/L.
