Analisis Parameter Proses Size Press Yang Berpengaruh Terhadap Size Pick Up Pada Grade Kertas

ABSTRACT
Size press is a process to improve the quality of the surface properties of sheets by coating using surface sizing and starch. The amount of starch that sticks to the surface of the paper and penetrates into the paper is called size pick up. In this study, the author analyzes what parameters can affect the size pick up value and its relationship to size pick up, this study was conducted on copy paper and offset paper products. The study was conducted using secondary data from the Project Management Information System (PMIS) and analyzed using the Pearson correlation coefficient method. From the analysis that has been done, it was found that the relationship between suspend solid starch, starch viscosity, pre dryer moisture and starch flow is directly proportional, the higher the solid, viscosity, moisture and starch flow, the size pick up will increase. Then the relationship between rod loading and size pick up is inversely proportional, the higher the rod loading, the size pick up will decrease. Pick up size does not really affect the paper wax pick. The size pick up on offset paper is larger than copy paper, the size pick up on offset paper is 2.0-2.2 g / m2 and copy paper is 1.7-1.9 g / m2.
