Pengaruh Penambahan Kayu Gmelina Sebagai Raw Material Pada Continuous Digester Terhadap Proses Oksigen Delignifikasi
ABSTRACT
This study aims to determine the effect of adding Gmelina as a chip raw material in a continuous digester on the efficiency of the oxygen delignification stage. The Gmelina ratio variations used range from 0% to 15%, with key parameters analyzed including kappa reduction, brightness, and the consumption of chemicals such as alkali charge and oxygen charge during the oxygen delignification stage. The data used in this research were obtained from the company’s internal records and analyzed using a secondary quantitative research method. The results indicate that increasing the proportion of Gmelina tends to slightly reduce the kappa reduction value and brightness. However, the decrease is not significant and remains within the acceptable industrial standards. Furthermore, the chemical usage, including alkali and oxygen charge, stays within the recommended operational range. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the addition of Gmelina up to 15% remains feasible as a mixed raw material without causing a significant decline in pulp quality.
