Pertumbuhan Dan Hasil Padi Gogo (Oryza Sativa L.) Pada Medium Podsolik (Ultisol) Dengan Pemberian Kompos Solid Dan Fly Ash Batu Bara
ABSTRACT
Population growth increases the need for rice while production decreases, so the use of marginal land such as less fertile Podsolic soil can increase its fertility by adding solid compost and coal fly ash. This study was conducted with the aim of studying the effect of the interaction of solid compost with coal fly ash and each treatment, and to obtain the best dose in increasing the growth and yield of upland rice plants (Oryza sativa L.) on Podsolic medium (Ultisol). This study was conducted for six months, starting from September 2024 to February 2025 at the Screen House and Soil Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau. The study used an experimental method with a completely randomized design (CRD) factorial of two factors, namely the provision of solid compost (0; 2.5; 5; and 7.5 t.ha-¹) and coal fly ash (0; 3; and 6 t.ha-¹) so that 12 treatment combinations were obtained with three replications, totaling 36 polybag units. The study showed that the interaction of solid compost at a dose of 2.5 t.ha-1 and coal fly ash at a dose of 3 t.ha-1 significantly increased plant height, number of productive tillers and dry milled grain weight compared to no treatment, but the interaction of solid compost and other doses of coal fly ash was not significant in increasing the maximum number of tillers, panicle emergence age, harvest age, number of full grains per panicle, percentage of full grains and weight of 1000 grains of full grains. The main effect of solid compost at a dose of 5 t.ha-1 increased the number of productive tillers, accelerated panicle emergence age, harvest age and dry milled grain weight of upland rice plants when compared to without solid compost. The main effect of coal fly ash was not significant in increasing the growth and yield of upland rice plants in all parameters, except plant height at a dose of 6 t.ha-1 when compared to without coal fly ash.
