Keanekaragaman Jenis Mamalia Pada Ekosistem Mangrove Di Desa Teluk Pambang Kecamatan Bantan Kabupaten Bengkalis
ABSTRACT
Mammals are derived from the Latin “mammae” which means milk and is a
class of vertebrates or animals with backbones. Mammals play an important role
in balancing an ecosystem. One of the mangrove ecosystems in Riau Province is
in Teluk Pambang Village, Bantan District, Bengkalis Regency. This study was
conducted to analyze the diversity of mammal species in Teluk Pambang Village,
Bantan District, Bengkalis Regency and identify the conservation status of
mammals in Teluk Pambang Village, Bantan District, Bengkalis Regency. The
research method used is a direct method using the line transect method, rapid
assessment and indirect methods using the rodensia trap and mist net trap method,
trail observation method and interviews. Based on direct observation and trap
results, 1,344 individuals from 7 species of mammals were found. The following
is the result of data analysis in Teluk Pambang Village, Bantan District, Bengkalis
Regency, the species diversity index (H) was 0.93 (low diversity), the species
richness index (R) was 0.83 (low richness), species evenness (E) was 0.48
(uneven), and species dominance (D) was 0.52 (dominant). The conservation
status of mammals species is based on the IUCN threat category. Macaca
fascilularis (endangered) is a species at high risk of extinction in the wild.
Trachypithecus cristatus (vulnerable), this category is for species facing a high
risk of extinction in the wild. Pteropus vampyrus (near threatened), this category
is for species approaching the threatened category. Pteropus alecto,
Rattutiomanicus tiomanicus, Macroglossus minimus, Magaderma spasma, Viverra
tangalunga, and Sus scrofa are classified as “least concern,” which applies to
species that do not yet meet the criteria for being threatened. Based on
international trade status, the species Pteropus alecto is listed in Appendix II.
According to Ministry of Environment and Forestry Regulation No. 106 of 2018,
the species Trachypithecus cristatus is classified as a protected mammals.
