Identifikasi Nilai-Nilai Karakter Dari Tradisi Turun Mandi Kabupaten Kuantan Singingi Untuk Pembelajaran Di Sdn 007 Pasar Usang Baserah
ABSTRACT
This study aims to identify the character values embedded in the Turun Mandi tradition in Kuantan Singingi Regency and to explore how these values can be integrated into learning at the elementary school level. The Turun Mandi tradition is a form of local wisdom that contains elements of character education, which are relevant in supporting the development of the Pancasila Student Profile. The research was conducted at SDN 007 Pasar Usang Baserah, Kecamatan Kuantan Hilir, using a mixed-method approach that combines qualitative and quantitative methods. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation.The results show that the Turun Mandi tradition contains four main character values: religious, independence, global diversity, and cooperation. The religious value is reflected in the prayer practices and spiritual aspects accompanying the tradition. The value of independence is seen in the students’ initiative as they carried out their roles during the activities. The value of global diversity is evident from the students’ attitudes in appreciating cultural and social diversity within the community. However, the value of cooperation is not yet optimal, as student involvement in collaborative efforts remains limited. Overall, this tradition holds great potential to serve as a contextual, culture-based learning resource in elementary schools. This research is expected to contribute to the development of educational approaches that not only introduce local culture to students but also instill character values that are relevant to the needs of modern education.
