pengembangan modul membaca cerita pendek berbasis proyek untuk meningkatkan keterampilan abad ke-21 peserta didik smp
This study aims to develop a project-based short story reading module that
can improve the 21st-century skills of junior high school students. The 21st-century
skills emphasized in this research include collaboration and communication
abilities. The module was developed by integrating a project-based learning (PjBL)
approach that emphasizes active student engagement in contextual and meaningful
learning activities.
The research method used is Research and Development (R&D) with the
ADDIE development model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation,
Evaluation). The research subjects were eighth-grade junior high school students.
The Design stage involved designing the module based on analysis results, setting
learning objectives, organizing project-based activities, and aligning materials
with competency indicators and 21st-century skills.
The Development stage involved drafting the module, which was then validated by
subject matter experts, media experts, and education practitioners. Validation
results indicated that the module was feasible for use with some revisions.
The Implementation stage was carried out through a limited trial in a junior high
school classroom. The module was used in the short story reading process using a
project-based approach, in which students actively participated in collaborative
and productive activities such as creating digital reviews, story posters, and mini
performances.
The Evaluation stage included formative and summative evaluations.
Pretest and posttest results showed significant improvements in reading skills and
the application of 21st-century skills. Students' and teachers' responses to the
module were also positive, indicating that the learning experience became more
meaningful and enjoyable.
The results show that the developed module is feasible based on evaluations
by subject matter experts, language experts, and instructional design experts.
Additionally, trial results indicate that the module can enhance reading interest,
comprehension of short story content, and foster students’ collaboration and
creativity through the projects designed within the module. Therefore, this projectbased
short story reading module can serve as an effective alternative teaching
material to support the development of 21st-century skills at the junior high school
level.
